Charity Ride Presentation and buffet.

Our thanks to Chas for coming along to tell us all about his 800 mile ride through India on a Royal Enfield Bullet. Raising money for The Childrens Trust, Chas and a group of other likeminded people (who had never met each other before) set of with a healthy degree of trepidation.

Chas told various tales of his adventure, which included all the horrors of bikes breaking down and needing repairs, sickness and frightening road manners.

48 hours into the trip, he wondered why on earth he was doing this, now he would do it all again. The presentation was great for those thinking of trying something similar and offered practical advice, such as make sure you have a loud horn! For those less brave riders (me included) it was great to hear the spirit of adventure is alive.

The presentation of DVD and question/answer was informative and fun.

After the formal presentation I know a number of members enjoyed chatting to Chas, whilst we all tucked into the buffet. I am sure that everyone enjoyed themselves and we are grateful for Nigel for putting the arrangements for the presentation in place.

Chas has two more trips planned, Riding across Arizona and running a dog sleigh team. Anyone would think he didn't enjoy his job, as test driver for Aston Martin, but that as they say is another story!

We made a collection on the night for The Childrens Trust and anyone interested in the charity and completing a similar trip may wish to look at their website. www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk
