On
a fine Sunday morning our intrepid group arrived at Choppers for the
Children in Need epic rideout.Chris and Alf organised everyone and the
riders were adorned in the new ' Orange Tango ' HRC hi viz vests. At
9am the group left and headed towards Dorchester and a gruelling (for
the sport bike riders) first leg of 50 miles. A great steady pace was
set by the tour guide Alf and the resulting trail of ' Tangoed riders
' was a great site as it sped into the distance. There was some impromptu
toilet stops just before Dorchester resulting in several riders relieving
themselves in the local foliage after 45 leg crossing miles. The next
leg took us along the coast including Lyme Regis and Seatown and stopped
for lunch at Exeter. Many Burgers, Coffee and fags prevailed as the
participants rested their sore bottoms then left for the next leg. The
planned route took a detour as the A303 was shut so a route around Yeovilton
and up the A35 was taken. After visiting some very small lanes (We should
have had off roaders for this) to obtain more letters for our alphabet
trail we had another fuel and fags stop. The last leg took us back to
the Countess services then onto Palestine to end the days riding when
the weary (some were asleep by now) riders stopped for a final photo
and bid each other farewell. After over 300 miles and many sore backsides
later we are proud to announce that the estimated total of our fund
raising efforts is sure to top £2000. Some New faces were also
welcomed and we hope to see you all again soon.
